In the evolving digital landscape, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the North East of England face increasing pressure to stand out. From Newcastle and Sunderland to Durham and Middlesbrough, local businesses are competing for attention in both physical and digital marketplaces. One of the most effective tools available to help SMEs rise above the noise is promotional video content, find out more about our Promotional videos for SMEs in the North East.

📈 The Growing Importance of Video Marketing

Consumers today are drawn to visual content more than ever. According to Wyzowl’s Video Marketing Statistics 2024, 91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, and 96% of marketers say video has helped increase user understanding of their product or service.

For SMEs, this represents a golden opportunity to:

  • Showcase brand personality
  • Build trust with potential customers
  • Demonstrate products or services in action
  • Boost search engine visibility
  • Increase engagement across social channels

🎯 Why Video Works for SMEs Specifically

Unlike larger corporations, SMEs operate on leaner budgets and need marketing strategies that offer maximum ROI. Promotional videos help accomplish this by:

  • Creating emotional connections with local audiences
  • Driving conversions with persuasive storytelling
  • Offering a reusable asset across websites, ads, and social platforms
  • Allowing flexible formats—short reels, full promos, testimonials, and more

📍 Why the North East Stands Out

From the cultural heartbeat of Newcastle to the coastal charm of Sunderland and the industrial strength of Teesside, the North East is packed with unique SME stories worth telling. But many local businesses have yet to harness the power of video to amplify their impact.

With the right local production partner, SMEs in the North East can benefit from:

  • Region-specific storytelling that resonates with local consumers
  • On-location filming that reflects your business environment
  • Access to affordable, high-quality video production
  • Local talent and partnerships for authentic representation

đŸŽ„ Types of Promotional Videos That Work

  1. Brand Overview Video – Share your mission, team, and ethos.
  2. Customer Testimonials – Build credibility with real feedback.
  3. Product Demos – Explain how your product solves problems.
  4. Behind-the-Scenes – Give a human touch to your operations.
  5. Event Coverage – Extend the life of live experiences.

🔎 SEO & Web Benefits of Video

Video content can improve your website’s performance in several ways:

  • Increased time on page, reducing bounce rate
  • Higher chances of ranking on Google (especially with video-rich snippets)
  • Improved conversion rates on landing pages
  • Increased shareability and backlink potential

Match of the Day Social shoot with BBC Sport & BBC Creative

We’ve been working with BBC Sport and BBC Creative this week on an exciting Match of the Day social project, fronted by presenter Reece Parkinson. We filmed at Kennington Studios in London, and it’s been one of those productions where everything needs to move fast while still staying sharp and consistent.

The brief was simple in the best way: take the spirit of MOTD and translate it for modern social feeds. That means quicker pacing, stronger hooks, and moments that land instantly on mobile. It also means performance and personality matter more than ever, because the audience decides in seconds whether to keep watching.

Match of the Day social-first production (with broadcast polish)

Social-first doesn’t mean “small”. In many ways, it demands more precision. You’re building content that has to work in a vertical, thumb-stopping environment, often with viewers watching on mute. So we pay close attention to framing, eye-lines, background detail, and lighting consistency. As a result, the edit has clean options and the final output feels properly finished.

A studio environment helps too. It gives you control and repeatability across setups, which is essential when you’re capturing multiple beats and versions. At the same time, you still want the energy to feel natural and current, not staged. That balance is where this format shines.

Coverage built for a Match of the Day social edit

We approached the day with efficiency in mind, keeping setups streamlined and communication clear. That way, the team could focus on performance, pacing, and getting the best material for the cut. Ultimately, Match of the Day social content needs to feel quick, fun, and platform-native, while still carrying the BBC quality bar.

It’s been a proper collaboration with the BBC Sport and BBC Creative teams—well planned, well run, and focused on delivering strong results on a tight schedule. We love projects like this because they sit right at the intersection of broadcast craft and social delivery.

If you’re producing social-first content and need reliable crew and production support, explore our video production services or get in touch. We can support UK-wide, from studio shoots to fast-turnaround social campaigns.
